MedCity News and HLTH announced a partnership to bring MedCity ENGAGE, the leading patient engagement summit, to HLTH in 2019. MedCity and HLTH will collaborate to present ENGAGE as a 1-day track at HLTH on Monday, October 28, 2019 in Las Vegas.
MedCity Engage, now in its 7th year, is an executive-level event featuring the most innovative thinking from payers, providers, policymakers, health IT experts and, most importantly, patients themselves, to highlight best-in-class approaches to one of the biggest challenges in healthcare: how to engage patients better. ENGAGE at HLTH will feature speakers discussing the current attempts to innovate in care delivery and reimbursement, along with the tech innovations driven, in part, by the consumerization trend in healthcare.
HLTH, which launched last May, established a new standard to empower transformation across the entire health ecosystem. In all, over 3,500 attendees – including over 750 CEOs, 375 C-level speakers and 300 investors – came together to participate in an unprecedented format whereby payers, providers, pharma, employers, government, investors, consultants, and solution providers exchanged content and formed business interests that would result in improving the health and decreasing the costs of providing health care services to our U.S. population.
At the core of fixing the health system is recognizing and addressing the barriers and burdens placed upon patients that prohibit them from taking more control of their health decisions. ENGAGE at HLTH will expose how the adoption and application of new strategies, technologies and industry inter-dependencies, such as data transparency and systems interoperability, will enable patients to be more engaged, informed and satisfied with their health experiences.
“We are extremely excited to collaborate with HLTH to bring MedCity ENGAGE to a larger audience,” said John Lerner, CEO of Breaking Media and MedCity News. “We were very impressed with what HLTH achieved in its first year, and we felt that combining our efforts to focus on the important topic of patient engagement was an incredible opportunity.
“Never before has it been so necessary – and so possible – to bring the voice of the patient into the conversation on how to improve health”, said Jonathan Weiner, Founder, CEO & Chairman of HLTH. “ENGAGE at HLTH will expose the challenges and spearhead the vision for how collaboration amongst health care providers, innovative startups, and other tech-driven solutions can improve patient outcomes, lower care costs and increase patient satisfaction.”
