Sarah Elizabeth Richards is a San Diego-based journalist who reports on biotech and genomics for WIRED, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Smithsonian Magazine, NBC News, Time and The Atlantic. She recently wrote a long-form piece for WIRED about Illumina scientist Ryan Taft’s quest to use DNA sequencing to diagnose children’s mysterious illnesses. She also works as a thought leadership consultant at Opine Ink to help life science leaders and patients share their stories through op-eds and speeches and develop powerful calls to action on healthcare issues.
