Propeller Health
David Van Sickle is the co-founder and CEO of Propeller Health, a leading digital therapeutics company dedicated to the development and commercialization of measurably better medicines. He founded Propeller Health in 2010 after observing how digital medicines could improve the experience of chronic disease and give patients and their providers new insights into their disease. David received his PhD in medical anthropology from the University of Arizona in 2004 and went on to complete his dissertation research on the rising prevalence of asthma and allergy in India, a topic he previously studied among Native Americans in Alaska, Arizona and New Mexico. From 2004 to 2006, he served as an Epidemic Intelligence Service officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, assigned to the Air Pollution and Respiratory Health Branch. During that time, he provided epidemiological support to the National Asthma Control Program and investigated the health effects of a variety of environmental exposures. Between 2006 and 2009, David was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health and Society Scholar at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. David specializes in asthma, chronic respiratory disease, medical device development, health data and disease surveillance.
