Prior to co-founding Akili, Matt’s background has been as a Creative/Art Director in games, film, and television. As Executive Art Director at LucasArts (the video game division of Lucasfilm) and at companies such as Dreamworks, Electronic Arts, and Microsoft, Matt oversaw studio-wide art teams on multiple projects, and has shipped over 15 game titles including multiple Star Wars products, and the critically acclaimed Medal of Honor franchise. He has taught computer graphics at Cal State, The Academy of Art University, and the Art Institute of San Francisco. He also authored the book, “Creating the Art of the Game,” published in 2004, which has become an industry and educational standard.
